The 2026 Wally racing season is gathering momentum, with the world’s most iconic sailing yachts now charting a course towards its grand finale at Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez, where the inaugural Wally Performance Trophy will be presented to the season’s best-performing Wally yacht. More than just another regatta, the new trophy brings a season-long narrative to Wally’s international racing calendar, rewarding consistency, performance and competitive excellence across some of the world’s most prestigious sailing events.
Wally’s campaign began in March with the North Sound Maxi Regatta in the British Virgin Islands before shifting to the Mediterranean, where the Tre Golfi Sailing Week officially launched Wally’s European racing programme. Bringing together an exceptional fleet of Wally yachts, the event marked the beginning of a season that celebrates both innovation in yacht design and the enduring spirit of competitive sailing.
Tre Golfi delivered a thrilling start to the campaign. RocketNikka (wallyrocket51), owned by Italian entrepreneur Roberto Lacorte, claimed the opening Wally Performance Trophy with a commanding performance in the ORC fleet, while V (Wallycento), raced by Czech entrepreneur Karel Komárek, comfortably secured Division One of the IMA Maxi European Championship. One of the week’s defining moments came during the demanding 150-nautical-mile offshore race, where V (Wallycento) and Galateia (Wallycento), owned by American entrepreneur David Leuschen, raced for more than 17 hours before finishing just four minutes apart—an extraordinary demonstration of the close competition that continues to define the Wally fleet.
As ever, the culmination of the summer’s racing will take place from 26 September to 4 October at the incomparable Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez—one of the most iconic gatherings in international sailing and a long-standing fixture in the Wally universe.
