Prestige 60 Wins European Power-Boat of the Year

Prestige 60

During the Düsseldorf Boat Show 2010 the first model from Prestige in its new large yachts segment the 60 was elected European Powerboat of the Year. Launched in the fall of 2009 and presented first during the Cannes Boat Show, the Prestige 60 has been a huge admiration in the seventeen meter motor yacht segment, thanks to its IPS propulsion, large three cabins, and innovative comfort solutions. She sports a deep-V hull form, which comes from well-known naval architect Michael Peters and gets her styling cues from Italian designer Vittorio Garoni. Twin 670-hp Volvo Penta IPS diesels are expected to push the 60 to a cruise speed of 25 knots (28.8 mph) and a WOT speed of 31 knots (35.7 mph).

It is the sun worshipper’s dream boat. The center console helm is surrounded on three sides by sun pads and an aft facing sun lounge to port. This flying bridge was obviously designed for the French Riviera where a cruise typically consists of a 10 o’clock departure from a marina and a 10:30 anchor down by a nearby beach for a day of sunning, swimming, reading, play, eating and more sunning. If you have ever wondered why wealthy Europeans are always so tanned, now you know.
