The Partnership
Burgess and Marine Solutions.
Burgess is a global leader in the superyacht market, specialising in charter, brokerage, yacht building, management, finance and insurance. Yachts of this size are bought and sold in Monaco, Palma and Fort Lauderdale, through a small number of brokerages that hold the market between them.
We bring that market to you here in India, and stay with you throughout — from the first conversation to the day the yacht is handed over, and well beyond it.
Burgess
Established 1975
Advising on charter, brokerage, yacht building, management, finance and insurance for the world’s most significant yachts — from offices including London, Monaco, New York, Miami, Dubai, Singapore and Hong Kong.
Marine Solutions
Established 2003
India’s first fully integrated yachting ecosystem — brokerage, marinas and yacht stations, OEM-certified engineering, management and charter — and the company through which yachts in India are bought, kept and run.
Between us you have the whole of the international market, and a team here in India who knows you and how you like to be at sea.
We are very happy to join the Burgess family, whose high standard of professionalism and global-cum-local approach to customer relationships and service delivery perfectly matches our philosophy too. We look forward to bringing this world-class yachting platform to the region and to connect the global yacht charter network with the fabulous destinations in India, Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

The Scale
The three classes, and what sets them apart.
Beyond twenty-four metres a yacht changes character: professional crew, international class and flag regulation, and a vessel rather than a boat. Above that line sit three classes, and we work across all three.
Superyacht
24 – 60 metres
Professionally crewed and internationally certificated. The class in which most first charters and first purchases are made, and the deepest part of the market.
Megayacht
60 – 100 metres
Several decks, a crew of twenty and upward, ocean range — commonly with a beach club, lift, pool and helicopter provision.
Gigayacht
100 metres and above
The largest private vessels afloat, delivered in single figures each year, seldom listed and almost always transacted quietly between brokers.
Lengths follow industry convention; the classes themselves are informal.
What We Arrange
Charter, acquisition, new build and sale.
Charter
Tailor-made charters across the world’s cruising grounds — the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, the Maldives, South-East Asia. We take your brief here and choose the yacht for your party, crewed and provisioned to your preferences.
Acquisition
Exclusive access to new and preowned yachts across the world, hand-picked against your requirements — with viewings, survey and closing attended on your behalf.
New build
A yacht built to your own vision — yard selection and contract, design, construction supervision and sea trials, from concept through to delivery.
Sale
Appoint us and your yacht is presented to buyers worldwide — marketed by Burgess and Marine Solutions together, taken to the international shows, with viewings arranged wherever she lies.
Charter
Chartering the finest yachts afloat.
A charter at this level is never simply a booking. We take your brief here, draw a shortlist from the international fleet, and choose the yacht for your party and your dates — her captain briefed weeks ahead, her chef given your preferences, every arrangement ashore made before you fly.
Hidden bays, atolls and anchorages, reached in the comfort of a yacht selected for you. Rates are confirmed at enquiry and are not published.

The Mediterranean
May – September
The Riviera and the Italian coast, Sardinia and the Amalfi, the Balearics and the Aegean. The deepest fleet in the world.
The Caribbean
November – April
St Barths and Antigua, the Grenadines and the Virgin Islands. Short passages, warm water, the winter season.
The Indian Ocean
November – April
The Maldives and Sri Lanka — a few hours from home, and increasingly served by yachts positioned for the season.
South-East Asia
November – April
Phuket and the Andaman Sea, Indonesia and Raja Ampat. Diving, distance, and itineraries few have taken.
Aboard
Crew, chef, tenders and water toys, and dive equipment where the ground calls for it.
Ashore
Berths in the ports you want, restaurants and cars, villas and events — the Grand Prix, the boat shows, the regattas.
Beforehand
Preference sheets, provisioning and transfers confirmed in writing before you leave India.
Acquisition
Buying a yacht already afloat.
We act for you and only for you, with Burgess’s coverage of the market behind the search — every listing, and yachts not yet openly for sale, shortlisted against your brief. You are not asked to fly to every viewing or take a selling broker at his word. We attend, and report back to you.
Delivered in months rather than years, at a known price, with her history on the table.
1. The brief
How she will be used, by whom and in which waters — settled before any hull is discussed.
2. The search
Central agencies, private listings and quiet availability, shortlisted with an honest view of each.
3. Inspection and survey
Viewings and sea trials attended for you, independent surveyors appointed, findings costed.
4. Offer and agreement
Offer, memorandum of agreement and deposit in escrow, on industry-standard terms.
5. Closing and delivery
Flag, registry and structure settled with your advisers; closing and handover attended, her documents received in full.
New build
A yacht built to your vision.
Where nothing afloat is quite right, a yacht is built. Burgess’s yacht-building experience stands behind the yard, the contract and the supervision; we hold your brief and represent you throughout.
Two to four years from the first drawing to delivery — and a yacht answering to your vision rather than someone else’s.
1. Feasibility
What you want her to do, tested against size, range, crew and berth — with an honest view of budget and timing.
2. Yard and designers
Yards shortlisted on their record in the class, then tendered; naval architect and interior designer appointed.
3. Contract and specification
Contract, specification and stage payments negotiated, with refund guarantees and delivery penalties addressed.
4. Design
General arrangement, exterior lines and interior signed off drawing by drawing.
5. Supervision
Inspections at the yard, class and flag approvals, change orders assessed, every milestone verified before it is paid.
6. Trials and delivery
Sea trials attended, the snag list carried to close-out, crew trained on her systems, delivery taken.
Sale
Finding her the right buyer.
A yacht of this size has a small and specific market, and most of it sits outside India. Appoint us and she is presented by both of us at once — to the broker network, to the buyers already looking, and at the shows where the market gathers.
Prepared
Photography, specification and inventory brought to international standard, her service history in order before she is shown.
Presented
Marketed by both firms together, taken to the international shows, and shown discreetly where discretion is wanted.
Concluded
Offers assessed, survey and sea trial coordinated, closing carried through to delivery.
